Hello!!

I am Asuka Misaka from the International Department!!
Formally, I am a Culture Coordinator (CC) for the Creative Department!

Check out our CC Blog

Since this is my first post I thought I should talk about why I wish to bring Japan and the rest of the world as well as my experience!

※Here is also a picture I chose that has nothing to do with overseas. lol

When I was in Grade School I had many trips with my parents overseas! From that experience I wanted to learn more! See other cultures! And I am grateful to my parents for that chance.

When i was in 5th grade I was obsessed with American Musical movies.

Though it was something that was drawn by an American High School student, I found myself envious of the different “bright” lifestyle of that student and how it was different than Japan. From watching that movie over and over again I soon started singing the English songs and wanted to understand what they meant.

This is the reason I decided I wanted to study language!

By learning that countries language I also felt that I was learning that countries culture.

For instance, in Japan before a meal we always say “Itadakimasu” and then when we are done we say “Gochisosamadeshita” .

In America there is no direct translation for this. When I think about it, language reflects a lot on the culture.

To me that was interesting so when I went to college I went into the International Field.

Learning Spanish, I decided on a year study abroad in Spain! I also found myself learning a little Korean. lol

The point I liked about studying in Barcelona is that kids from Barcelona get  presents three times on Christmas. lol

This is the Christmas parade on January 6th! Those whom are interested in seeing it, please look into it! Its amazing!

In Japan, we have Christmas and at the begging of the year we get an allowance called “Otoshidama“!

Through studying abroad, I gained language as a tool, and wanted to meet more people and encounter more cultures and languages and so instead of becoming a language teacher or a translator I entered into Event21!

I wanted to through events, make happy! for the world.

I wanted to overcome the language barrier and make a better world for everyone!!!

What are cultural points that you like about your country???

What kind of events are there??

Lets spread your culture here in Japan too♪

And with that, the next time I write I will talk more about our department!

That! or about other countries cultures or events!

Till next time~~
