Nara’s Own Mascots At A Local Market!

Nara’s Own Mascots At A Local Market!

Hello!

Event21 was at an event in Nara Prefecture just a while back!

Most people have only the image of deer and old temples in Nara, but the prefecture has alot more to offer.

This event was centered around the image of old Japanese markets. Besides workshops held by locals, food booths and other stores selling the region’s specialties was also available. Thanks to the good weather, the event was a huge success!

You may have heard of the various mascots (yurukyara) that Japan has for their various regions. Other than the famous Kumamon of Funashi, every town and region from big to small has their own mascot for their own promotional purposes.

Below is a picture of Gosen-Chan from Nara Prefecture’s Imperial Palace. The colours on her are inspired from the Yoshino region’s Kuzumochi – a kind of rice cake made with Kuzu (Japanese arrowroot).

Sunamaru, from Nara’s Kawai Town was also there;

as well as Yukimaru from Oji Town, who’s side profile looks adorable.

It’s hard to pick a favourite out of the three!

These tents are all part of the lineup here at Event21! Many of our previous posts feature various kinds of tents and product rentals for outdoor events – they are all highly versatile, there is sure to be something to fit your needs!

We also offer services for set-up, disassembly, layout planning and others for tents, so come to us if you want to hold an event with a fuss-free process!
