How to save on delivery costs in Japan

If you have ever held an event in Japan, you should know that the delivery costs could possibly burst your budget.

In this ageing society, labour costs for delivery will only continue to rise.
So, we have complied some tips and tricks to help you make the most of every yen spent.

One feedback we often receive from our customers is that the delivery cost is too high.
Let us review an enquiry by customer A and see what can be done to lower the cost.

Hi Event21! I need to rent a chair for my event on Sunday. Can you please deliver the chair tomorrow, Saturday at 12pm? Please come to collect the chair at 4pm on Sunday. Thanks!

There are 3 mistakes that customer A has made, which will significantly increase the delivery costs.
Let us take a look.

1) Making a last-minute enquiry

This enquiry is for a delivery on the next day. It is difficult to secure a vehicle for delivery on such short notice, so naturally it will cost more.

2) Setting a designated time

Customer A specifically set a time for the delivery and pick up. For such time designations, we will have to charge a separate fee as it restricts the movements of the delivery vehicle.

3) Renting only 1 item

The rental price for a chair is fairly inexpensive, and in customer A’s case, the delivery will cost much more. Instead of renting multiple products from multiple companies, try to rent all your products from the same company to save on delivery costs.
