Why Make Dioramas?A Story From Our Companies Provider.

Welcome to the world of Dioramas!

I`d like to take some time to talk about the reason I started this Diorama Store. I collect a lot of many mini cars. So for my collection I decided to do some independent research and make a diorama to use to display them. Looking through books, putting together plastic models, I thought up of many ways to put these together.

In the beginning I made 1/64 scale models, but after discovering a model train book (1/150 scale models), I found myself interested in many types of structures (people, animals, cars, trees, buildings, etc…), and with that I began to understand the fun world of Dioramas. However, I was not concerned in making the models move so much as making a small space to present the beauty of the diorama themselves.

In the process of making these dioramas, I found myself beginning to give them out to people as presents.(Mikoshi or portable Japanese shrine scenes.)

When I did this, I was in South America at the time and because I wanted to get my students to see Japanese Culture I gifted these diorama to my students.

In an effort to get more people to understand the fun of making and sharing what you have made with those around them, I opened my store in 2010.

The products that we make the most of are nostalgic Japanese Structures (1950~70), Farms or Livestock. The “Ghibili Products” are also very popular. Products such as these are not just things you purchase but also things you can put together yourself! For those who want to try making diorama but do not have the confidence that they can, I also have a free Diorama Class available (all you need to do is purchase the products) and on our page you can also see our “How to Make” walk through.

Here we wish to show many people just how fun it is to make Diorama and challenge themselves.
