Get a taste of Japan from home!

Hello!

Had to cancel your travel plans to Japan?

Want a taste of Japan from home?

Consider these following items to get a taster of that Japanese experience even without having to step foot on the land of the rising sun!

  1. Japanese Lanterns (Chochin)

A common sight around Japan, and often seen in festivals or at restaurant entrances, Japanese lanterns of today come in various shapes, sizes, and for a wide range of uses. The lantern shown above reads 立吞 (tachinomi), a place where customers stand while enjoying some drinks and a side dish or two.

Have a modern interior in your apartment or home? Fret not!

These Japanese lanterns are bound to fit into any modern home.

Lanterns are fully customisable according to your desired shape, size, and font/design.

Check out our website for a brief history of lanterns and an introduction of the lantern making process.

2. Masu (Sake Cups)

Plastic bag for Masu

Commonly seen in izakaya (Japanese drinking places) or in movies, masu are cups used for sake (Japanese rice wine) drinking. A glass or cup is placed in the masu, and sake is poured till it overflows from the glass, to fill the masu.

For tourists, these make for a good souvenir to bring home after enjoying their glass of sake. Crafted from wood (often Japanese cypress), they can be washed and then used as display in homes, or to bring as gifts for family and friends.

While they come in various sizes, the ichi-go masu, or the standard sized masu is one of our most popular products. All the masu can be customised with your desired logo or font, which is branded with an iron cast individually.

Check out this website for a more detailed history of the masu and it’s making process.
