Hello everyone! This is Yee.
As the rainy season comes to an end, Japan is starting to heat up.
If you’ve ever been to Japan in summer, you would know that the sweltering heat coupled with the high humidity makes it unbearable to stay outdoors for long.
The risk of heat stroke is very high during summer, especially at outdoor events. Event organisers need to ensure that attendees keep cool and stay hydrated. In this post, we’ll introduce some items commonly used at events to beat the heat!
1) Tents
Tents are great as they provide shade and give attendees a place to rest.
Tents are available in all shapes and sizes, so you can choose one that fits your needs accordingly.
There are even tents that can provide full shelter from the outdoors like this dome tent!
Full list of tents here.
2) Air-conditioners & Fans
Tents alone may not be sufficient to cool the area.
One possible way to lower the temperature would be to attach fans to the tent as shown in the photo below.
Or in the case of an enclosed area, the more effective alternative would be to install air-conditioners.
More information on air-conditioners and fans here.
3) Refrigerators
Keep your food and beverages at an optimum temperature to ensure that they don’t go bad.
The photo above is a refrigerator used to contain ice-cream, which will definitely be a refreshing snack for event-goers. Of course, refrigerators can also be used to keep beverages or other food cold.
For smaller scale events, a cooler box may suffice.
Cooler boxes are smaller and portable, making them suitable for events with limited space or no access to electricity.
Check out our full list of refrigerators here.
4) Various Cooling Goods
In Japan, there are lots of products available to combat the summer heat.
This jacket with fans attached to it is just one of them.
While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, cooling goods like this jacket are available for rent at Event21.
We hope you’ve gotten some ideas on how to mitigate Japan’s summer heat.
