Hello!
If your appetite has grown in this cold season, we have the perfect solution for you! Why not try out some Japanese street food at your party or event? These foods taste best when cooked on a grill – what’s more, you’ll get to experience some fun while preparing the food!
There’s yakisoba – the name pretty much explains the dish. Yaki (To fry) and soba (soba noodles), although the dish does not use buckwheat but rather just wheat noodles. It is often fried with cabbage, carrots, beansprouts and pork slices in a special yakisoba sauce, and garnished with aonori (seaweed powder) or katsuobushi (bonito flakes). It is easy to make, even in large portions, which makes it a good choice for parties or events!
Okonomiyaki, a savoury pancake that is associated with the Hiroshima prefecture and Kansai region of Japan. Made with a thick batter, these pancakes also have a layer of cabbage underneath or within. While pork can be most commonly found in okonomiyaki, squid and cheese are other popular options for this pancake. It is easy and fun to make – prepare the grill and ingredients and you’re ready to serve this at your event or party!
There’s also monjayaki, which is said to have originated from Tokyo. The banner is more runny, which makes for a slightly crispy, charred surface after preparation.
Lastly, there’s the famous takoyaki – octopus balls associated with the Kansai region. Octopus or other fillings are placed in a ball, and topped with seaweed powder, a special takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Takoyaki machines can also be found in many households, especially in the Kansai region. Easy and fun to make in large groups, it is one of the best choices for any party or for large groups.
While household-use takoyaki machines are often compact, we also have large machines in our lineup!
From small-sized machines for 18 takoyaki balls to large ones of 180, our lineup is varied!
