Celebrate the New Years in a Japanese way with this Mochitsuki Set!!!

Greeting to you all!!!

I hope you are all doing well.

With the new year already over, there was a lot of days off and celebrations.

While not the way we wanted due to COVID-19, I am sure everyone still had a good time.

With all the celebration, I thought it would be good to share a little about Japanese celebrations.

One famous celebration in Japan is Rice Cake Pounding (Mochitsuki), It is usually done around the new year.

It consist of pounding rice cakes with a wooden hammer until it is chewy.

It is a 2 person job, since one person has to use the hammer and the other turns the rice cake.

Once the rice cake is nice and chewy, people usually eat the chewy rice cake.

There is a famous 2 person video of the fastest Mochitsuki maker.

If you would like to experience a Japanese tradition first hand, then this is for you.

Event21 has the full Mochitsuki set for rent.

If Mochitsuki is not for you, we have many other Japanese traditional items for you.

If you are looking or if you know someone that is planning to do any rentals or events here in Japan, please let us know, or tell them about us.

If you have any questions about our products or services, please don’t hesitate to ask.
